Appeal - Home Away, Need Support

Respected Sir/Ma’am,
I’m writing this appeal on behalf of many students and young professionals who are home away, and staying in a hostel or PG accommodation. I represent PGO, a digital platform which facilitates the business between hostel/PG hosts and guests.
During this uncertainty over the global Covid-19 virus, we all appreciate the tough decision of ‘21 Days Lock Down’ taken by our Hon’ble Prime Minister and as responsible citizens we all are committed to ensure ‘social distancing’ and ‘stay home’.
We all are home away and staying in a hostel/PG to pursue our education and professional commitments. Post this lock down order, many hosts are requesting us to vacate the premises and they are claiming of strict orders from local authorities. At the same time all transport services have been halted and we see no option to reach our home town.
Sir/Ma’am, I strongly feel we still can achieve social distancing with in the same shared room by maintaining sufficient distance, which many of the households in our country are practicing. Also we can shift members who are staying in multi sharing to 2-sharing. Rather than dealing with other possible options, hosts have choose to vacate us, out of covid-19 fear and orders from local authorities. PGO has shared all our recommendations to both our guests and hosts, which I share here for your kind reference.
- Stay in 2-sharing or Private Rooms. Avoid multiple sharing rooms
- Avoid roaming in groups in the common areas and dining halls
- Ensure proper sanitization and place sanitizers where needed
- Balance number of guests within 2km radius by relocating guests among different hostel/PGs
I/We sincerely request for your kind attention in this matter and pass any such order(s) which help us to reach our home town safely or allow us to stay in the same hostel/PG.
